Great Britain: large companies told to publish gender pay-gap details

British companies with more than 250 employees will have to publish  gender pay-gaps each year and risk a fine should they not comply. This historic initiative, currently  under parliamentary debate should come into force  over the next twelve months, promises the Cameron government.

The Liberal Democrats, originators of the shared parental leave  initiative (c.f. article No. 8254) have strong-armed their Conservative coalition members and succeeded in pinning down one of their longstanding  policies  right before the general election.   Prime Minister David Cameron  has up until now wanted to avoid  piling  potentially more red tape on companies.…
